The Latvian Writers’ Union is announcing an OPEN CALL for applications for foreign publishers offering an opportunity to receive a grant for publishing and promoting Latvian literature abroad.
This is a call for English and non-English Publishers.
Grant program is financed by State Culture Capital Foundation (Valsts kultūrkapitāla fonds) and by the Ministry of culture of the Republic of Latvia.
We invite legal persons/publishers that have experience working with Latvian authors and interest in publishing Latvian literature to take part in this grant competition.
The deadline for applications is May 5th , 2017 (23:59 East European time). Only online submissions are accepted. Please submit your project applications online at our website!
The projects that receive financial support through the program have to be completed by December 31st, 2017.
The submitted projects will be evaluated by a jury of 5 experts. The projects receiving financial support will be announced after May 25th, 2017.

We kindly ask publishers from Great Britain to fill in the application form found under the “ENGLISH PUBLISHERS” section, and other publishers – under the “NON-ENGLISH PUBLISHERS” section.
The next grant competition for foreign publishers publishing Latvian literature abroad is scheduled for July (for both – English and non-English applications).
