Petr Voltsit (Pēteris Volcītis) was born in Moscow, Russia, in 1975. He studied biology and English in Moscow State Pedagogical University.
He worked for many years as an editor in a large publishing house, editing both books by Russian authors and translations. Since 2014 he decided to become an independent freelance writer and translator. Among Petr’s works are those non-fiction and fiction books in Russian, translations from English and, since 2018, from Latvian. He was to translate Lauris’ Gundars’ story “Sveks, Vali!” (“Hello, Whale!”) now published in Russia by “Eye” Publishing house.
Currently Petr is translating Juris’ Zvirgzdiņš’s brilliant fairy-tale “Mufa”, but the publisher for it in Russia is still to be found.
