Ilze Tālberga (b. 1985 in Rīga) is a translator, linguist and editor.

In 2004, she started to study Estonian language at the University of Tartu (Estonia), where she has also been teaching Latvian language and culture since 2006. She is the author of the Latvian language textbook for Estonians (published 2014). In 2020, Ilze acquired PhD in Estonian linguistics after she wrote the dissertation on equivalents of the Latvian verbal prefixes in Estonian.

Ilze has received the Medal of the Baltic Assembly and Estonian-Latvian language award. She is also member of the Tartu Latvian Society and co-organizer of the international student conference “Bridges in the Baltics”.

Over the years, Ilze has translated various texts into both Latvian and Estonian, but devoted herself to translating Latvian fiction in 2016, when she started translating Nora Ikstena's Mātes piens. Since then, she has translated several books and short-stories of Latvian authors into Estonian. She also edits translations of Latvian fiction and writes articles on the comparative linguistics of Latvian and Estonian language.
