Efe Duyan (poet, architect, event curator), born in Istanbul in 1981, has participated in numerous international arts residencies, including the Hurst Professorship at St. Louis University and the IWP at the University of Iowa. His poems have been translated to more than twenty-five languages. His debut novel Başka [Other] was published in Turkish in 2022; his selected poem collection The Behavior of Words appears from White Pine Press in 2023. An advocate of freedom of expression and creative thinking, he has curated a number of international events, workshops, and conferences. Efe has translated into Turkish the poetry of Madara Gruntmane, Semyon Khanin, Arvis Viguls and Ivars Šteinbergs. Currently he is teaching architecture in Riga, Latvia.
