Toms Treibergs, born in 1985, Riga, is a Latvian writer, poet, journalist, actor and director. After finishing school in Taurupe, he went on to study at the University of Latvia where he obtained a degree in theology. He teaches at the Maria Montessori children's centre, and hosts the culture programme Culture News for the Latvian Television (LTV). He has worked as an editor and journalist, and frequently performs and directs with the sketch theatre troupe Nerten. He writes critiques for theatre and cinema and works for radio and television. Toms Treibergs' texts have frequently appeared in various outlets both in print and online. His first book of poems Gaismas apstākļi [The Lighting Situation] was nominated for the Annual Latvian Literature Award as best début. His second collection Drudzis [Feverr] was published in 2015 by Mansards and Biezoknis [Thicket] was published in 2019 by Neputns.
