Juris LEIMANIS (1917-?) was a writer born in Courland, Latvia, in a Romani family. Not much data is available concerning his biography.

He served in the Latvian army. The only Leimanis' book published "Čigāni Latvijas mežos, mājās un tirgos" (Gypsies in Latvian Forests, Homes and Markets, 1939) is an exhaustive and vibrant painting of the daily life, ethnography, traditions and values of Gypsies, rich in fascinating characters.
